To all my Canadian friends and Family - Hope you are having a wonderful long weekend if your province observes it. I always thought all of Canada had uniform holidays for the most part - love my blog it is amazing how many things I have learned when I go looking for an answer.
According to Wikipedia:
Celebrated in most Canadian provinces but it is far from uniform nationwide. Two provinces and one territory do not recognize it at all, and five other provinces do not make it a statutory holiday. No nationwide name is recognized for this holiday, with the official name varying among the provinces and even among municipalities within Ontario.
